COVID-19 Letter From Our Administrator

As you may know, many Massachusetts health care centers are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of residents and staff. Although it was not an easy decision, effective 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 12, our center will restrict all social visits at our center due to the Covid-19 virus. Exceptions may be allowed for situations when a current health state (e.g. end of life care, hospice) is in question.

We are doing it to best protect the health and wellness of our residents. We know that seniors – particularly those with pre-existing medical conditions – are the most vulnerable population to the effects of the virus.

Our parent organization, Athena Health Care Systems, has centers in Connecticut and Rhode Island where the states have already implemented this restriction earlier in the week. We take this step to be as proactive as possible.

As you know, this is an unprecedented step to contain or mitigate the potential spread of the Covid-19 virus to a vulnerable population. We are sensitive to the hardship this may cause, but feel these steps are necessary at this time. We have many contingencies in place for our center and are now are actively planning ways in which you may “virtually visit” with your loved one, including Skype, Zoom, FaceTime and other methods that would allow you and your loved one to see each other. You will receive a sign up invitation to Zoom through email. I will have weekly town hall meeting through Zoom on Fridays at 3:00 PM. Please feel free to attend the meeting for update information.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we work to navigate these difficult times. As always, please feel free to contact us at our main line at any time with questions. More information will be communicated to Family members via email, phone calls, and posted on our Facebook page on a regular basis.

If you have any questions, please call us at 617-327-6325, or email us at

Thank you,

Saeed Pourali, DR.B.A., LNHA
